Steve Alan, a.k.a. John Tomlinson ( tfwiki.net/wiki/John_Tomlinson ) who wrote the fan-favourite story 'Destiny of the Dinobots', in which Snarl's mind is transplanted into a real dinosaur in the Savage Land, also wrote some Doctor Who stories - tardis.fandom.com/wiki/John_Tomlinson - suggesting the DotD title was a homage to Destiny of the Daleks. But anyway, together with Dan Abnett he also write the Marvel comic universe adaptation of 'Thundercats, Ho! The Movie', which introduces the marvelous Bengali and his chums... as a multi-part text story. The text stories from #60 onwards meant the UK comic could include the new toys in stories to promote them while the comic content finished off reprinting the US issues. The US comic was so much earlier than the UK one that it had concluded before it got as far as having Ben-Gali's wave in it. UK #76 has the first Ben-Gali comic story, uniting the comic and text content, a week after the US run finished in #75.

For anyone that’s interested, The Vintage Toy Monster in Portsmouth had a couple of Ben-Galis in. Not that I can help you with that - I am no longer in those lands. But they were there...
