The latest Toys 'n' Playthings reports that Warner Bros has appointed Bandai as the master toy licensee for next year's new Thundercats cartoon.

In 2007 it was Corgi with Harry Potter and Golden Compass. In 2009 it was Playmates with Star Trek and Terminator: Salvation.
Will Ban-Dai be the toy company for 2011 to piss loads of money up a wall making two 3.75" action figure lines for seasonal movies that nobody buys? I wonder what the second one will be...
Didn't know there was a new Thundercats cartoon coming out. I thought it was a film they were working on.

They're doing it in an anime style, which I think should suit Thundercats.

Maybe Panthro gave him driving lessons. He should know how to, being Lion-O's nanny and all.

I don't normally bother with the Bandai stand at Toy Fair because I don't sell their products (I really must start doing Ben 10 figures one of these days), so I must remember to stop off there this year. Having seen the outside of their stand in the past, though, I suspect I won't be able to get on there without an appointment.

Did a bit of digging online through Thundercats news sites and original Lion-O voice actor Larry Kenny will be voicing Claudius, father of Lion-O and Tygra.

You mean he's voicing Claudius AND Tygra, or that Lion-O and Tygra are brothers this time?

The first 3 episodes will explain that one aparentley.
I want to know how Panthro lost his eye.
I am getting a Final Fantasy VII vibe from these new designs.

So I'm not the only one who thought "Oh, Cloud." when I looked at Lion-O?

And Barratt with Panthro...
Larry Kenny is voicing Claudius. Lion and Tygra are bros in this version of TC.
Not too sure about Tygra having a gun, but glad to see the bolo whip back.

I get a Masters of the Universe 2002 vibe off these designs in that the lead character looks completely off, but everyone else is spot-on.

I was happily surprised to find that I didn't need an appointment and I could walk around the stand freely. I just had to sign in. (Bandai's walls are always among the biggest so I'd always assumed they were one of the more protective exhibitors.) Unfortunately, I didn't have much time as I had a Hasbro tour booked. (When they told me I didn't need an appointment, I didn't think to come back later when I had more time, I just went straight in. D'oh.)
The photos actually show the whole display, so I can't add much, but can fill in some of the blurry text details. (I could have read the information and made notes if I'd gone back later, stupid me.) The main line will be 10cm - 3.75" in old money - with a small 15cm range consisting of the most major characters. "Thunder Lynx" refers to magnets in the figures that allows them to stick to the vehicles and activate features. The cycle is a pod that can be attached to the arm of the Thundertank. In addition to the Sword of Omens, the role play assortment includes Lion-O's glove. Expect the range in the sceond half of the year.

Indeed. I've started a thread for the new Thundercats TV Show here as more info is surfacing about it. There is a link with an interview with the producer in the first post. If this new Thundercat's toyline brings out a Snarf plushie like the original did I am so getting it. For Blaise of course ===KEN

That's the Thunder Tank box that was shown at Toy Fair. The Snarf picture is in a window, no doubt a mock up to show how the figure will be packaged with the vehicle.
