It was an awful figure, but didnt' seem to shelfwarm that badly, it is odd to me that Hasbro wouldn't try to recoup the cost on it with a repaint. I guess the fact it was a sizeclass on its own didn't help. At the very least, he looked cool with Wingsaber

I liked Energon Prime, though I wasn't paying full whack for one. Never saw a cheap one though!

As bogatan suggested, Impactor from Leader Bulkhead. I wouldn't have thought of that myself and I think it works, so well done bogatan! The transformation means he can hide his yellow feet too! That is awesome. I had the idea over a year ago but never could quite quite decide how to so it, even bought and disassembled the toy. I never really thought about keeping the head but now I am. I have to dig out my box-o-bulkhead and get painting. Andy

Having been unable to find pics of the Unreleased Energon Prime on the net I've uploaded mine: Unreleased Energon Optimus Pictures

You could match up Enegron Demolisher with Movie 2 Long haul. Same mold type [dump truck] but with the brown & gold colours added to the standard green - & the darker green.

I was thinking about Energon Demolishor as IDW Jihaxus. Him or Movie Starscream.

I'd quite like to see a set of modern toys done as Constructicons which would include e Demolishor as Long haul. Swap the brown for Purple and green for clear Purple.

G2 combat hero Megatron as Bludgeon.
Do people think that this RID repaint worked? with the mold & character compared to the Movie 2 repaint.
{was RID but in Armada pack}

Do you mean make him green and purple?
See now we are getting the new Bludgeon, I think it makes other attempts at him redundant.

Well, now we have Universe Sideswipe, there's less need for the Wheeljack repaint.
This is one of my problems with repaints that are a homage. Sooner and later a better one will come along.

Been dwelling on this for a while. It's starting to get to me.
The biggest fucking con in our fandom are the completely fucking lazy, patronizing and money grabbing white repaints of Optimus Prime as Ultra Magnus.
Who do we blame? Do we blame Pat Lee?
Does anyone agree?

I prefer them to the black repaints at least Magnus has a historical (or at least pretransformers) reason for being done. And beside the original its only been done 4 times?

To be honest I find it quite a con as well. Black Optimus is Nemesis Prime, no problem, but White Optimus is simply not Ultra Magnus to me.

One of my fave repaints is a white Magnus: The Battle in a Box repaint of Armada Supercon Op. The mould suits the soldier aspect of Magnus. On top of that there's the Masterpiece version, and the Classics one.... WST ? (checks www.tfu.info/1986/Autobot/UltraMagnus/ultramagnus.htm)Laser Magnus, War Within Titanium and Revoltech But how many Magnus are there that *aren't* white Primes ? RiD Energon Animated "Normal" Titanium

Ah forgot about WST titanium and revoltech.
I suppose in fairness to Hasbro most of those are Takara jobs and I agree that the Supercon one is probably the best.

When they first started doing it, it was really fun, unusual and novel. Now it seems more like a 'ticking the box' exercise where every Prime is repainted into Magnus. Just like how every Starscream mold, no matter what universe it is in, gets repainted into Skywarp and Thundercracker. It's really really boring now But those first ones were great. I love Masterpiece Magnus just for how odd it is. Also the white die-cast works really really well,

Whereas MP Magnus annoys me. I want a better toy for my money when I pay that much, not just a repaint.
The larger the toy, the less my tollerance for a repaint. Legends and Minicons oh yeah. Leader and Supreme - uh huh.
