I saw an EXCELLENT photoshop concept somewhere of Jetfire as Cloudburst, using the Jetfire 'armour' to represent his pretender shell
Same with Landmine as Roadblock. That seems to work really well.
What other TFs with armour are there?

Just going by alt modes only - which Micromasters or Minicons could be repainted to look like the normal Transformers characters. The robot modes would not.
ie
Fixit - Ratchet
Stakeout - Streetwise [some may say Prowl - but see below]
Tote - Ironhide
Fire engine from Armada - Pryo
The Taxi car from the minicon set - repainted as police car = Prowl
This is also a - can you remember the names of the minicons thread too.

That Prowl one suits Barricade more than Prowl. I was going to say that one but it's too sup'ed up for Prowl.
Firebot is more Pyro than Hotspot - due to one have a ladder & the other doesn't. ... & i've just forgoten the name of the micromaster who's got a ladder. Need to look for it. Hothouse was the base
Red hot - i'm sure thats the one.

There are a few of them so any. You've got the minicon one that i've seen coloured purple & black & the micromaster connector.

Just using toys in the Classics, Universe [the line that has just been out & changed to Generations - not the Botcon started Universe line] & Generations line
Which toys could be repainted.
Anyone got some clever uses like the Skull grin toy we have just got pictures up of. Maybe do all the other Pretenders. But anyone pick a rare TF character from G1 that noone would think of & pick a toy that would suit the character.

Hot shot has been repainted as Dion for the club membership figure.
Give him a new head and WFC Bumblebee would make a great Wheelie.
I'd like a battle damage repaint of WFC Optimus to closer match the game, complete with neon logos and trim.

I can't remember if Seaspray is Universe or Movie - but seeing he isnt skeltonlike like the other Movie toys. So he could do repainted as Waverider - but with just remode head -

Bumblebee - We need a western Cliffjumper. Goldbug is coming as Gold Bumblebee
Beachcomber - is already Sandstorm. Need G2 Beachcomber
Brawn - Outback
Rodimus - is Smokescreen. Could you do him as Prowl/Bluestreak?
Warpath - is Sparkcrusher. Treds is a similar option
Wheelie - is Shadow Striker, the evil Wheelie.
Cosmos - has to be a white repaint as Enterprise. Or blue as Pathfinder

Currently I own Three Voyagers in two different colourschemes:
Classics Optimus as Optimus & Magnus
Classics Megatron in Classics & United forms
Armada Overload as Overload and Energon Magnus
and that's the largest toys I own more than once.
Previously I've owned THREE Superbase Primes, two different Optimal Optimus, two different TM Ultra Megatrons and two different Bruticus & Piranacons.
D'oh.
I still own two Beast Warts Ultra Megatrons: Megatron & T-Wrecks.

I have Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Masterpiece Ultra Magnus. They are the two largest TFs I own which are same mould/different colours.
I've always liked the white Optimus Prime from Ultra Magnus (I also have the iPod Trailer one as well) so getting the MP Magnus was a given when it came out.
Apart from the original Optimus (and the Strike Planes) I don't think I own anything bigger than a Deluxe that is the same mould/different colours.

It was superbase Prime, which I had three of. I only needed the origjnal Overload and I'd have had all three of those too! |

I own Grand Max and Brave Max. But I must point out the Brave is a junker. I'm neither wealthy or stupid enough to own both versions in good condition. Not yet anyway.
Other than that MP Starscream and Skywarp. Quite a few voyagers, mostly classic Primes (5 plus 2 customs). BW Megatrons also. Optimal Otimus and Primal Prime.
I generally only get a repaint if I liked the original mould and like the new scheme and often only if I like it more than the original. Size is only a factor in that I aren't such a fan of larger moulds compared to deluxes and smaller.

Generally if I get a repaint of a mold I own, it has to look /right/. That's why I have all the repaints of the Classic Starscream mold, but not the repaints of the same characters out of the Armada/Energon/Movie molds etc. They just don't /feel/ right, and if I want those characters, Classics is the way to go.
I too own Masterpiece Prime in varying colours. Completely forgot that D: Probably a sign I need to sell them on!

Largest Transformer toy I own in multiple colours would be the Masterpiece Decepticon Jets - I have a Starscream and Skywarp currently wing to wing on top of the music chest.
The largest toy I own in multiple colours would arguably be my Valkyries, as I have two 1/48th Scale VF-1S' "Roy Fokker" type (one in "clean" configuration and one that normally mounts the Strike configuration FAST packs) and a VF-1J in Max Genius' colours in the same scale.

TFA Megatron and Shadow Blade Megatron, Movie 1 Leader Optimus Prime and his Nightwatch repaint are my largest ones, I have loads of Voyager repaints though

I replaced my Move 1 Leader Optimus with the nicer chromed up version and the original is now on eBay. (But once something goes in the eBay BoxTM I don't consider it to be "owned" by me any more.)

One thing with repaints - should they release them in different sizes too?
So if they have DX Starscream - repaint ti a few times but also release a bigger Voyager one & repaint that?
Also shoudl Hasbro put in some effect to make each toy different? Isnt the Universe Starsceram & Acidstorm just using the same image? At least back in 1984 Starscream, Thundercracker & Skywarp all had different pictures.
