Yeah but let's face it they'd have needed to **** it up quite badly for you not to want it!

A proper variant would be one with the actual proper original toy Bumblebee head. I would buy that in a second. No other bugger would, but I would. -Nick

I'd buy the original BB facemask mould too.

It looks fantastic, but Bumblebee as a non deformed VW is always going to look wrong to me. I think its probably why I never liked Pretender bumblebee as much as I should.

Amazing, love what they've done to justify the price point as well, not a toy I ever thought I'd see made!

Pretender Bumblebee was awesome, every other Classic pretender seemed a downgrade - but Bumblebee was awesome, he was the definitive Bee of my childhood.

Thant looks very nice, yet I am finding something about the vehicle mode not sitting quiet right with me. It does look almost GoBot like to me seeing Bumblebee as an actual Beetle.
At the moment I am not seeing how that could become Cliffjumper, but I am sure they designed ways to remold this toy into him. I look forward to seeing hos Bee looks in colour.

The face removal function frightens me. Then you'll never be a Prime! But, dammit, Pretender Bumblebee. That would've been a better bonus feature than Spike - 'Bee's Pretender shell! Ah well... I'm sure a third party'll be on that.

I'm sold. It's different enough to TW's Bii and I love the bonus goodie. Thant looks very nice, yet I am finding something about the vehicle mode not sitting quiet right with me. It does look almost GoBot like to me seeing Bumblebee as an actual Beetle. I know what you mean. I can't put a finger on it, but I think it's the rear side windows. They just seem 'detached' from the rest of the car somehow. As the former owner of a yellow '73 Volkswagen (with a 2' Autobot vinyl on the roof and chrome Autobot glyphs in the centre of the alloys), I really need to have this...

HHHUUUURRRRAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, very pleased. Looks brilliant. I can see what folkes mean about the car mode, but we'll see. Robot mode looks great!
But why does his face come off again?
Need size comparison pics with other MPs now please.

A quick search on Google solved my issue. I am thinking of the GoBot Bug Bite when I see the VW Beetle. I am just finding it initially weird seeing Bumblebee as a proper Beetle, instead of the squished up, for lack of thinking off a more suitable word "Beetle inspired" car that we have known and loved for 30 years.
I am sure I shall quickly get used to seeing his masterpiece look.

I have to say that this is the first of the Masterpieces I have looked at and felt no twinge of regret about not buying it. I think it is the fact that it has the wrong head. Even if it has a "visor face" option the actual shape of the head is so far removed from the original Bumblebee head that my brain just goes "Classics Bumblebee" followed by "Got that already". Whereas all the others felt like homages to the Diaclone cars, this on doesn't make me think of the original 'Bee and somehow doesn't make that nostalgia connection arc.
It is odd, because this is the one - barring a Jazz - which I thought I would want. Ah well, I'm sure the Office of Budget Responsibility are pleased with this state of affairs.

Technically I've been a G2 Sideswipe owner for a couple of decades... :-) Sadly they picked the wrong end of the year to release the Masterpiece version though. My Mecha Acquisition Funding for the first two quarters of the year is already allocated to the YF-19 acquisition.

I have no real compulsion to buy the super expensive taraka version. However, with as much as hasbro worships at the alter of the bee, i would be gobsmacked if he didn't get a domestic release. I'll take my chance and wait. If I miss it, I still have the perfect Classics. I won't feel I missed much.

I need this so much, but I might have to hold out just in case he might be a birthday present from my then wife (that'll not be until June).
Expect much nail chewing until then. He is definitely going to be mine tho.

Just to let everyone know, this is now up for pre order on Hobby Link Japan.
And the face switching is just normal to smiley face (would have preffered smiley and toy face myself). Anyway, still a great looking toy.

Robot Kingdom also have pre-order. Cheaper at HLJ but higher risk of CUTA.
