Pretty odd to engineer in a face designed to resemble to some degree the original toy but only in an exclusive. I don't understand. Ech.
I really don't like the look of this toy at all, but I don't know why.

Dr Wu will have a field day with this Masterpiece - I bet you'll be able to buy some 5 faceplate pack within 30 seconds of it's release.
I was originally convinced but as time has gone on, I've looked at my TW Bii and just keep thinking he looks so good, how could he be improved upon? He even turns into a deformed Bug, which is a deal clincher. This guy feels more like a proper Alternity Bumblebee.

Should 'Masterpiece' Bumblebee infact be a deformed Bug? I don't know! I just DON'T KNOW!!! HELP!!!

I just DON'T KNOW!!! HELP!!! Yes. No. Maybe. I dunno. The first Masterpiece Starscream didn't look like his cartoon incarnation (especially the Japanese release), so... Yeah. Why not? Come on, give this guy some love. Movie 'Bee can shelfwarm, but not G1 'Bee! ;-)

Those new high res photos don't do MP Bumblebee any favours, but I think part of the problem here is that the source material is less defined than for the other cars we've had. The original Bumblebee is a very small super-deformed toy with very little detail, so in creating a masterpiece there's a lot of interpretation going on. The other original cars give you more to work with. The car modes for the MPs so far have tried to reproduce the original toy while leaning toward real world accuracy as the gap there is pretty close. With Bee the gap is much bigger so any MP interpretation isn't going to feel right. If it was totally accurate it'd be too simple to be an MP. I'm starting to think like Sifu, the Toyworld robot is better, but the MP car mode has to remain real world accurate or it won't fit with the others. But in doing that it starts to pull far away from what Bee's car should look like. Therefore the solution is to buy both and take a black marker to that silly blue window on the Toyworld one

Course the other thing is that we haven't yet seen this Bee next to an existing MP figure. How big actually is it? there's no point in that car mode being real world accurate if it isn't sized correctly with the others. If it's much smaller to make his robot mode the right G1 height compared to the others then that will look very silly.
Cor, this really is a conundrum. I'm with Shockprowl. Cuffuddle doesn't begin to describe this one.

Comparison pics next to other MPs is required!

It's fake, a fan-made digibash. Looks good though.
I'm not sure I see them doing CJ from this mould unless they throw their arms up and just make him a VW. I imagine the proportions are well out for reshelling as the Porsche, unless they make him super-deformed - which would look really odd next to the other licensed MPs.

I don't see Cliffjumper being a successful MP at all.
They either forfeit some accuracy somewhere, or it just wouldn't work. Their choices are make a fictional car (that can be a base for Hubcap), so his robot mode can look like the cartoon, or he'll have a car that in no way fits the cartoon. Either way, they can't fit this triple toy/cartoon/alternators accuracy deal they're doing. I'm not sure what kind of Porsche he's meant to be, but he never looked like that in fiction.

I'm not sure what kind of Porsche he's meant to be, but he never looked like that in fiction. That's because some of the 84 Minibots are super deformed versions of their car modes. See www.microforever.com/MC04MiniCAR.htmCliffjumper: tfwiki.net/wiki/Cliffjumper_(G1)#ToysHe's a Porsche 924 Turbo. A google search will show you what one looks like. But it's nothing like his toy vehicle mode, so you can see why he's pictured like he is in the comics It's interesting to look at one and wonder what a Cliffjumper from one of those cars would look like if you had the car pieces ending up in the same places.

Yeah, i understand the toy is superdeformed and thats why he doesnt look like the real thing. Which is why i pointed out how that between that, the cartoon, and comics how it breaks this weird trinity they seem to aim for.
Though I agree it would be interesting and cool to see him designed after the real thing.

Having looked I can see more Porsche 935 (Jazz's vehicle mode) design cues in Cliffjumper's original form than Porsche 924.

Tiny. Look at the size of those screws... But that's to be expected, I guess.

If it's to scale with the Spike figure with MP10, it needs to be tiny!

Nice, looks like spike's head is hinged and weighted (or there's some auto-morph type engineering) so that he looks up when in vehicle mode.
