Snowcat arrived Saturday. Such a fun toy. Trying to remember why I ditched my original now!
Was missing one part, the panel with the minicon peg..... Fortunately I had a spare that had been sitting in a parts box for a decade!
One slightly loose ski on the front of his right leg that keeps falling down but other than that....
Demolishor en route.
I think the only Energon deluxe mould I don't have a copy of now is Tow Line.

But Towline is superb, intricate, immense play-value. Why he wasn't mass-released as Ratchet and Ironhide I'll never know. The bastards. |

The energon autobots get a bad rap, exclusively based on the combined forms.
There were more good ones than bad, and a couple were outstanding.
The only truly bad one I can think of is Rodimus, and even that I wish would get an update because it was generally a pretty boss design.
Hotshot and Jetstorm are ugly, but not bad toys.
Ironhide would be fantastic if they had just tried to hide his head.
Inferno and Prowl are both pretty solid individual figures.
Downshift is not great, but neither is he bad.
Both ultra molds are fab. Super Optimus is the most fun Optimus to play with of that generation. Omega is better than the other supremes because he's pretty good and the only one who's not massively out of scale with every other toy ever.
I have no experience with Cliffjumper (beachcomber's absurd rarity royally screwed me with that one), or Deluxe Optimus (was also incredibly hard to get)

Here. It may not be the best toy ever but there's plenty of character in the sculpt. The lack of hand weapons for the Decepticons is irking me. I know the Basics are meant to be providing them, but that's true on both sides and all the Autobots deluxes have weapons. On the Deceticons, just Starscream. Snowcat, Demolisher, Sharticon, Slugslinger, Steamhammer and Barricade all miss out! |

As for the handgun thing, I get it's annoying to some, but I think it just feeds into that the decepticons are so overpowered by Unicron, that they don't need them.

Pretty sure I know where I put them as they haven't been up there long. These particular figures have been on here before: There is probably a thread for this kind of thing but I've looked back and can't see one. Who are these chaps? I've been handed a box of TFs by a relative to ID and check for completeness. I know they're all Unicron Trilogy era and I've sorted out all of them (most I own so it wasn't hard) bar these three. I am guessing they're Cybertron toys because that's the area I know least about and I've no clue who these bots are. I started clicking random guess links on tfu.info, but realised the hive mind here would sort this out in seconds. View AttachmentSaid relative lost interest in them and was having a clear out, dumped the box on me rather than trying to sell them. They're all filthy with dust and grime so the box got put aside to come back to in the summer when I've got time to get the toothbrush & soapy water out. Probably about 15 Armada/Energon era toys. |
