I have not dared either of those tbh, though I was reassured once that with care it's fine (the shoulder configuration, that is).

I gather he's one of those that it's far from certain that he'll break, but you proceed at your own risk.

You look at photos like that and think, that's a proper toy collection. If you replaced all those with generations updates I don't think I'd get the same feeling. I've always thought the same scale, uniform style G1 update collection is the ideal to aim for but I think I'm pulling away from from that now. I just want the originals because they're more fun.

I'm getting close to the stage where I could do that with updated Armada & Cybertron.

But yes, in both cases I think the majority of the originals are better.

I did think my Energon holdings were better than the other two Unicron Trilogy, mainly cos I've got most of the deluxe: I don't have Towline, Kicker & Highwire or either range's Starscream repaint.

The only repaints I'm sure I have over the entire line are Hotshot's, Ironhide's and Inferno's Inferno Volt/Roadbuster/we all know he's really Grapple remould

From the scouts I'm missing Divebomb and Insecticon of the original colours

Voyagers I need original Ironhide, Jetfire, Mirage, Wing Sabre - a real priority that one, Mega Dinobot and Alpha-Q. I have repaint Ironhide and Sixshot, though his gun hand is damaged.

I don't have Landmine or Bulkhead, or their repaints.

I don't have the large Optimus, Megatron or Galvatron

I don't have any of the Armada repaints

I don't have the SWAT Team boxset, Prowl & Checkpoint, which I really REALLY want
