Oh hey, Inferno. I've got the Takara version of him kicking about somewhere.

Energon is another line of some pretty nice toys that are spoilt as I can hear the voices of the dubbed cartoon coming out of them. Uh!?

As said, I've been sorting this box of toys out today, which has given me the chance to fiddle with a few I haven't before. I do own an Energon Shockblast, but he is still sealed, so having been cleaning years of muck off one today I've become quite fond of him. Quite a nice interpretation of Shockwave, but my word what's going on with that waist joint?! I realise being Energon he has to bend in half in odd places to do the superlink thing, but there's nothing holding the top half of his body onto the bottom except one ratchet joint that isn't tight enough to hold his waist onto the top of his legs. This one is okay, but his body really tilts forward. Is that how all of them were?

Never could find that toy back in the day! -Ralph IIRC he and Cliffjumper's case was effectively Entertainer only, which you didn't have access to till recently. You can guess which toy sold through first....

An right, I thought he was missing that clip arrangement in the waist the others have. In which case bugger me he needs a clip or a peg to hold his waist together. But then having fiddled with Energon Snowcat, Demolisher, Inferno and Rodimus today there does seem to be a fair bit of things just sitting in place unsupported or firmly pegged with these toys. Also pieces, especially heads, on long thin plastic arms. Lot of faith in things just staying put by friction.

It was TRU only round these parts in the mid naughties.

I either got my Shockblast when I was in Canada, or my housemate picked me up one when he was in America the following week. (That was a good couple of weeks for toy buying.)

Yeah, great toy. Grabbed me one back in the wild when he first came out from my local now long-gone toy shop. Superb toy. I wasn't bothered about his waist, it was the ridiculously massive gun-arm that I found weird. Nice sound effects though.

You can guess which toy sold through first.... I bought my Shockblast & Cliffjumper from my Toys R Us back then. I remember they were in a 3 for 2 deal that I did with another collector and ended up realising I'd bought a toy (Cliffjumper) just for the sake of it.

Don't tell me, you paid for the two and he got the free one... Oh no - the total amount was split between the 3 toys. But I seemed to have bought something I didn't need just for the sake of it and was a turning point in my collecting habits.

I had most of the Armada/Energon line, supplemented with Super link for toys like Lazer wave and Skorponok for their more G1 deco.
Overall those were some great fun designs. The mix of playability with fun design and relatively decent poseability was great. I really loved the deluxe Armada Prime (never had super pants).
I hated the shows but wouldn't mind having the toys back.

Woah. It's amazing what a good colour scheme does for a figure.

Also in the lot which had the Cybertron Metroplex axe - see tmukhub.proboards.com/post/494959/thread - was an Energon Omega Supreme missing the usual suspects. It pushed the buttons so you can guess what I bought yesterday can't you?

One day I shall open mine. It's in the loft. Still with its Woolworths clearance price sticker on the top. I love the fact that for such a big figure it has lots of intricate detail.

Phil has Superlink Megazarek, the Japanese version of Energon Scorponok He has been tipped off that putting it into plane mode is bad for it so won't do that. But would I be right in thinking the alternate configuration for the shoulders in robot mode is also bad for it?
