I was right. White Diamond is someone even the other Diamonds are afraid of. I mean, the G2 vibes get stronger, I'm not surprised! Homeworld continues to develop and invade other planets, cyberforming them into hub worlds to create more soldiers and wiping out organic life, the fleet lords each have their little minion assistant, Peridot is explicitly an Era 2 gem, of course White Diamond is going to be the Liege Maximo!!
Noticing lots of Oz references too, do you think White will turn out to be someone tiny piloting a giant White Diamond body? |

There's a giant robot. Yellow and Blue Diamonds' ships are right and left arms (and when Jasper brought Peridot and Lapis back to earth, it was in a green arm ship and was a joint yellow/blue mission), and Pink's ship is legs and butt.
And I noticed that White's citadel is a limbless torso with a head.
Also WD's Pearl is dressed like Pink Diamond, and has her gem in her belly, like Pink. Meanwhile, we were told a long time ago that Crystal Pearl was gifted to Pink. Crystal Pearl is white, and has her gem in her forehead, like White.
I thought a long time ago Pearl belonged to White, but I kinda forgot that train of thought when it was revealed she was Pink's personal Pearl, and even more when revealed that Pink is Rose Quartz. |

I was assuming that only the diamond ships combine, but the other ships are design after the diamond ones. I forgot all about the 'Pearl was once White's Pearl' theory, I like the idea that they did a swap though what happened to that other Pearl?  She doesn't have the same voice as the other Pearl's it's the White Diamond actress I believe. I was surprised to see Homeworld in the state it was from space, gave me Gobotron vibes. Do you think it just got hollowed out and collapsed, or are they at war with someone (they do seem to be making a lot of military, though maybe that's just for the expansion. Or maybe it's the SNAKE PEOPLE |

I wish in the end they coulda found time for a quick scene were Peridot nervously approaches Yellow, and apologizes.
"I...I'm sorry I called you a clod. That was wrong of me. Steven has taught me that it's bad to call people names when you disagree with them."
And Yellow looks down at her, awkwardly and stiffly, "Very well... Just... umm... don't let it happen again."
The leans over to Blue and whispers "...do we know her?" I love how the CG's new costumes are all now influenced by Steven, in the same way they previously were influenced by Rose. AND PEARL IN JEANS AND THAT EIGHTIES JACKET!!!! |

Watching through season one and upon getting to Too Many Birthdays, I realized that it's accidentally the most hilarious episode of all. Not for anything that happened, but in what the worst case scenario would have been.
I mean, how would they have explained what happened to Greg?
"Steven threw us all birthday parties, had a mid-life crisis, grew old, and died."

Finally watched the SU movie. I was a bit reluctant as the show ended so well but OH MAN that was amazing. (Obviously massively spoilery for the end of the show).
A ton of thought and care was put into it, and it felt like a proper thing not just a vestigial one-off disposable thing or something that nerfed the show's ending that I was worried it might be.
Also Spinel is amazing and absolute Shockprowl-bait.

So biggest critique is that songs should exist to serve the plot, Plot shouldn't exist to serve the songs.
Also, not particularly fond of the ending.

Oh, I have no problem with Spinel, or the basic story. The songs didn't do much for me, and getting them in seemed to be the movie's priority. And of them, Spinel's song is the only one that seemed to hold up to the rest of the series. I also felt the end was doing Spinel a horrible disservice. Like just sweeping her under a rug by shipping her off with the Diamonds, instead of her trying to find her own life, and make friends on her own terms. |
