Creed II (Rocky VIII). Not a patch on the last one though Dolph is good value.

Saw it too. I had seen a trailer for it months ago, but only realised that about 20 minutes in. Really good film and glad I saw it last night as its not out for another 2 months by the looks of it. Even then theres s good chance my cineworld wouldnt be showing it, because they are crap.

Orchestra was brilliant, but very hard to fully appreciate the film and concert at the same time. Green Book really really good. really hope this is under oscar consideration as itdoesnt feel like that is its purpose unlike so many of the contenders.

Bohemian Rhapsody - Thought I had better catch up with this given how much is coming out in the next few weeks. The middle of the film you can tell is missing stuff, it hints at events, sometimes thats enough, sometimes its not. Other things just aren't there. But the performances are great and the ending is magical. I'd watched a review with a pissy comment about a certain cameo, it sounded bad. But I'd forgotten about it till the punch line of the cameo and actually thought it was pretty funny.

I didn't think it would be during Once Upon a Deadpool. Secondly, anyone who was concerned that PG Deadpool wouldnt work has nothing to worry about. Honestly it worked better than Deadpool 2 in a lot of respects, less violence and swearing, more humour. I don't know how much was cut (they clearly cut away from the most violent shots, but nothing huge seemed to be missing) but even with the new footage it seemed like a shorter, more streamlined story. Thirdly - the new footage, its fantastic, but also, it only occurred to me about half way through that the Princess Brides meta story within a story thing is absolutely perfect for Deadpool. Now the choice of Princess Bride is so obvious where as 3 hours ago it just seemed like a wonderful but random pick. Fourthly - if you get a chance to see it at cinema (being a one day only thing that maybe tricky) stay till the end.

What I'm surprised by us how many big releases there are this Christmas, and that's even without a Star Wars. More than usual surely. I feel the urge to go and see Bumble, Aquaman, Fantastic Bs, Mortal Engines. Four! I haven't been to the cinema once this year.

Aquaman: SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITE. As a hater of the DC movies who keeps going to see them and thus encouraging them to make more of the same, in much the same way as haters of the TF movies keep going to them and yet complaining about them, I am resolved NOT to go and see Aquaman. Sorry, DC, I've given you too many one-more-chances already! Martin

I doubt I'll see it anyway. I was going to see it with a group more for the banter than anything else but couldn't make it. The film just looks like more of the same trash and I can't stand Bumblebee as a character from the other films. A much higher priority is seeing Mary Poppins Returns!

It's all about the Poppins for me. Now my dilemma is whether to watch it first in regular screen, 4DX or IMAX! Thankfully for once Disney doesn't seem to have bothered with 3D crap so there are options for viewing!

You and Martin have been agreeing a lot lately... Who knows, Bumblebee may be another occurrence! I enjoyed Mortal Engines. It has utterly bombed at the box office and has terrible reviews. A lot of the points in the reviews are valid but it got by on sheer spectacle for me. It didn't bore me like the other current spectacle movie (Aquaman) did. I suspect it will not work that well on the small screen though. I'll probably go see Spidery-Man again. There was so much going on visually I'm sure I have missed stuff. -Ralph

Saw a re-release of THE NEVERENDING STORY at local fleapit. I like this film much more as an adult than as a child. Back in the day, the themes of the film went completely over my head. In some ways the scripting feels very modern.
