But yeah, I'm really liking the look of this. Sure, the base is a lot of different nothings, but so was the original, so it's accurate. And although, yes, this base does indeed lack the action features of the original, on the other hand the ability to reconfigure this one does give it the potential to be fiddled with a lot more. I was going to complain about the 5mm rings in the fists not being retractable like in Siege Jetfire, but then looking at it more it looks like there wouldn't be room for them to retract given where the fists are placed and where all the joints need to be for transf- conversion, so I'll let it pass. In all, this is looking really nice. I'm surprised how much I like it, actually, since I was never a fan of the original design. But after many, many years and many different lines all mostly giving us Optimus Primes that are variations on G1 Optimus Prime, this is a welcome change. There's only one issue I have with this. And that is: Commander Motormaster was £92. Given how Hasbro keep jacking up prices so rapidly I'm calling it now: this will be £100 on Pulse. Yep. Easily. And if this is less than £100 than you have my permission to eat your hat. This'll be another one that I'll wait for sales for, I fear. |
