Just to clarify: The Dockotor has beaten me at, well, whatever it is that we do on The Hub, but he's had not beaten me AT ACTUAL CHESS.

When he says "more insanity on the way" I'm assuming he's talking about pricing.

It's quite something when 'not G1' equals 'more insanity'.

Medic! Medic! Ralph's delirious! It's... too late... I'm sorry. In those photos above, the super robot seems much larger than the recent Menasor. Menasor looks tiny! In a "I'm glad I never considered buying it" kind of way. I also find it weird that a 'giant' robot would kick another 'giant' robot in the head. Omega Supreme wouldn't kick Devastator in the head. You know what I mean.

Menasor there doesn't have his legs straight, so it isn't really a good comparison, but it's an interesting point. For Commander class, Siege Jetfire is the same height as a CW combiner, which makes it look like Super Mode Op here is noticeably taller than that. Jetfire is a BIG figure by Generations standards, which makes it look like Op will be massive. Which is fine really, because Armada Megatron's head only came up to Super Prime's waist on the originals.
I think these Armada figures are the things I'm most looking forward to this year.

And I'm too tired, in too much pain and my head is all over the shop so I'm in no position to make a proper assessment of him.
Another Commander squeezed into a strip in the middle 1/3 of the height of the box!

I've only just seen these photos. It just goes to show how big Armada toys were compared to those either side of them - and how spoiled we were in terms of how much we got for our money! How much was that Optimus? £40? And that was the biggest ticket thing we'd had in the UK at that point.

I think Tidal Wave would have been cheaper than Origin Bumblebee.

An inflation calculator shows that £40 in 2002 is now £70, so the commander class version is gutted of electronics and any play features and is smaller, but 20 quid more!
