I'm just messing with my G1 Hot Rod. His chest is very square and flat. I'm wondering if this MP design is deliberate. Although the usual approach is from the animation model, which is less like.

I don't understand the complaints. It looks exactly like the underside of the G1 toy did. What's wrong with that? That's good. That's a nice homage to the original toy for those of us who had it and likd it.
I always dreamed of G1 toys with more poseability - that's what this MP is. That's good.

I think the comments are more about the robot than the underside of the car. At least I was referring to the very square chest.

I like the look of it more than I used to; my daughter insisted I get one when we were flicking through the last Generations book. That's good enough for me!

I think the comments are more about the robot than the underside of the car. At least I was referring to the very square chest. It looks like a pizza box just thrown on the front!!!!! As its been mentioned as well, I don't like the underside. I'm absolutely fine with homage or even just plain copying from G1, in fact it took a lot for me to recognise anything other than G1 as being Transformers in any sense. But these are supposed to be high level toys and priced at a premium, I dont think it's too much to ask for a little effort. Fold his head in, swivel the legs round. I'm not looking for much. His face is also terrible in that picture. It just doesn't look like Hot Rod.

Whoever looks at the underside of car modes? You can't see it when it's rolling along. Beep beep.

Although I'd need to see it in the flesh because a lot of cars which carry the robot underneath have a habit of bits sticking out that you can see on display or graze the surface when rolling in car mode.

End of Feb. It does look like Ironhide is shipping on time, so there's nothing to suggest Hot Rod won't make it out on time too.

Me too! I love how he's smaller than Ironhide but bigger than Prowl.

The figure looks great, and the extra accessories are nifty, but what's going on with the generic looking guns? Hot Rod is the 'bot so 80s that he has rear spoilers on his blasters! That was one of the best/silliest things about him! Ach well.

The guns match his original G1 toy guns. This thing is clearer as much an homage to the G1 toy as to the cartoon.
