If Mega-Octane is a poor name for a Combaticon, it is a worse name for a Decepticon who is supposed to strike fear in to the very hearts of his enemies. Scourge fits that very well.
I dunno, Mega-Octane seems fine as a name for someone who is just there to form Ruination. Compared to Movor and the rest...
Come to think of it, maybe the only reason he's Mega- anything is because he's the bigger toy. He should just be Octane.

But doesn't the name Octane, as in one of the chemicals in petrol, say fuel to you? And thus appropriate to a fuel truck, hence the triplechanger's name? Thus Mega Octane is a big Fuel Truck

He is.
Mega-Octane is a missile carrier.
Unless you're Phil.

Onslaught looks like someone that's been on a bad diet (or good one) the toy is so slim compared to the other leaders. Does feel Mega. Mega Octane fits Swindle more than Onslaguht

I think fuel when I think of Octane - but that's probably because of the original Octane character although it does mean just that.
It can also mean 'Powerful & dynamic' - which works for RID Onslaught Recolour.
But I agree with Phil, it would work on two levels and works so much better for RID Laser Optimus Recolour.
There must have been a mix up somewhere.

i'm not so sure about this being hard proof. There's more deco changes going on than just a primary color swap between them, and everything else new in that catalogue is either grabbing the actual toys from the various lines they come from, or in the case of the coneheads, straight up using starscream, TC, and skywarp to showcase the new toolings.

Big Phil's deffinately right about Sideswipe abd Sunstreaker. And Flywheels and Battletrap. I'm not familiar with Mega Octanes or Artfires or whomeverelses, but Phil makes a good case for being right about them.

His name is Stepper, Phil. It says so on his packaging. His name is Stepper. It's a daft name. It is nonsensical, but it is his name.

THE NAMES MAKE MORE SENSE THE OTHER WAY ROUND!!!!!!

Japanese names are immune to this because we do not have an understanding of japanese language.
Artfire works just as well for a firetruck as it does a car. And for Stepper, I always assumed Step as in Dance.
And japanese names rarely make any sense to western people anyway. They have called transformers Jackshot, Greejeeber, Star Upper, Roseanna, Glit, Angela, Joe, and Alan.
And no one can agree if it's translated as Dezarus or Deathsaurus, or Gelshark or Gershark.
