Legacy is the rumoured name for the next Generations line which rumours suggests more resembles T30 www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/leak-thread-2-0.1213050/I can't tell if we reported it here or not: it all looked very vague and nebulous till the Blaster got bumped up and then the rumours had a bit more solidity |

I'd be happy with a line like that. Another one to dip in and out of instead of feeling compelled to buy everything. If it plugs obvious G1 gaps like Blaster, Skids and missing 87/88 characters then have at it!

True, but then there's a fair few play features missing from the Beast Wars figures coming out now. When it comes to Armada the originals are still great, a generations line with articulated updates would be a nice complement. I'd love a posable Scavenger. That Op we saw.

I would be very much into non-combining combiner updates that puts the focus on being good stand alone updates.
CW were great updates of the combining gimmick, but they leave a lot to be desired as representatives of those individual characters when compared to updates of other characters from their years.

Well these are some exciting leaks. Dragon Megatron? Yes please. I mean, I'd rather have a Transmetal 1 Megatron, but seeing as how I don't have a TM2 I'll take this one. FOR NOW. And Blaster will be a must in this household.
The deluxe Arcee is puzzling. Presumably this'll be a different version - probably Prime, given the presence of Bulkhead - instead of a third repack of ER Arcee.
The new $8.49 SS Core figures are certainly intriguing. If they *are* introducing core class figures into the Studio Series line then that won't be unwelcome. I am wondering though, given that they're a whole $1.50 less than the Generations Core figures and prices are in general going up across the board, whether... the may not actually convert. Maybe they'll just be like the Wheelie and Daniel that come with Grimlock and Slag? It'll be interesting to see, for sure. And Ratchet is certainly very puzzling.
Whatever the case, I look forward to photos of these being leaked in the week leading up to Pulsecon.

Ratchet really is the oddball though. Like I said, it sounds like Battlemaster or Legion class toys with a little bit more to them, and every one of those guys would fit that perfectly, except for Ratchet.

It's weird. In terms of plastics, articulation, size etc, Prime isn't far off Generations anyway. The toys were pretty cartoon accurate too. How can they do new ones now ten years down the line that aren't just going to be cheaper looking and inferior to the originals? I was fiddling with some the other day while sorting, it' easy to forget how even ten years ago the build quality was much more impressive than it is these days. I felt that about the Beast Wars figures, but there was at least an appreciable difference in terms of scale and aesthetic there. Redoing Prime now just feels... weird.
I'm more interested in the prospect of Unicron trilogy stuff. Those toys, Armada especially, were pretty chunky and in some cases awkward looking. There's scope there for Generations versions that could refine the original designs into something more Generations-ish. Starscream isn't really one of those, but when you think about figures like Super Op and Scavenger, there's scope there to produce a decent figure albeit without the play features.
