Phil will be visited by spirits three. Ghost of Rhyming Week Past the first shall be. Then the Ghost of Rhyming Week Present Will to the Death-Fortress be sent. And finally the Ghost of Rhyming Week Yet-to-Come Will give him a sharp kick up the... stairs.

But still rhyme on, shy friends, for Martin's... very good at rhyming... so don't feel bad if you can't think up cracking rhymes like he can...

Non-rhyming beasts must be cast out! Their manhood, I fear, must be in doubt! Punish them! Shackle them in chain! My heart it bleads, why are they so lame?

I always wondered why everyone on this board seemed to spontaneously start rhyming, every so often.

Thankfully this poll matters not one jot, As those who want to rhyme always will, And those who don't want to will not, But will have to put up with the rhyming still.

It bothers me less now that I understand. From my perspective, this was the weirdest dang thing about this board, that every so often, nearly everyone would start replying in rhyme out of the blue. I'd just have to bare and grin it until y'all got it out of your systems for anither few months.
I always wanted to know what triggers it, but at the same time I didn't. Because I found my own bewilderment to be amusing.
Though I must admit it's pretty grating by the end of the week. I'm not one to take away someone's fun, but after a few days I'm ready for it to be over. Instead of a full week every year, how about a rhyming weekend every couple months?

I'll have to de-rhyme to answer Tophs's point.
Rhyming week is an annual Hub tradition. Folk only join in if they want to and not every post must rhyme: indeed many posters ignore it as not all frequent the General board. You generally only see posters who know folk a bit better make any comments about it, which are usually made in fun via familiarity.
I suspect having it every few months would be less fun for those rhyming and far more irritating for those who do not due to the increased frequency. Let's leave it as it is.

Too many forums on the Interwink Take fandom far too seriously I think. Most of what we all discuss a lot Is rather silly and matters not. Rhyming Week is really just an extension Of the Hub's unique strength, which deserves a mention, Namely as a place to act a little mad, Which really isn't something to be seen as bad.
True Friending, a Late Night Hubbing war, Avatar sabotage, toilet spiders and more, Week numbering fights, passionate poll debates, Drunken posting, extreme film hates, Trials of guilt, sausage options in polls and then Plastic robot toys for full-grown men.
And... Shockprowl.
Rhyming Week is not out of place, In this place... which I think is rather ace.
