I currently own two:
MP Grimlock, who has a broken tail half, and the Angry Bot.
Blue Bluestreak ordered.
I did own MP-01 but the size, complexity and lack of anything to go with it put me off.
I'd like to own MP-10 Convoy but he's never been out when I've had money.

I nearly bought the Sunstorm version of the other MP Decepticon Jet mould. But have passed due to my currently restricted financial circumstances. (And also because in the longer term I keep looking at the collection in terms of "you'll likely have to pack and unpack all that in a few years time" which is having some influence on my purchasing habits.

MP Prowl because I love Prowl in the G1 look and that crappy disproportioned classics rendering just didn't do it.
MP G2 Sideswipe because I'm a sucker for G2 - same reason I own FOC G2 Bruticus...
and as with Ralph - that'll do.
Was tempted by Star Saber - but I'll hold out in the hopes of a generations Starsaber.

I have Exhaust on the way, so he should be here by mid April. Still no postal confirmation on him yet.

Wasn't the arse flap that put me off, but the reveal of Star Sabre - I wanted that bad boy more, and I was hoping that Hasbro might one day put out an IDW-accurate Magnus. Combination of expecting a Hasbro release and hoping for a Powered Convoy. I'll pay Takara price plus postage and cuta once, but not twice. Especially when (hopefully) cheaper Hasbro one should turn up eventually like every other no licensed masterpiece. Butt (hehe) yeah the butt flap (amongst other things) did mean it wasn't on my must buy list. |

Gen Magnus was a happy bonus as I'd already made my mind up on MP Magnus.
A great under £50 IDW inspired Mangus certainly will help ease any regrets if I never get around to MP Magnus though.

I didn't go after magnus because it's not accurate.
It's not G1 Magnus to me if it's not white prime in iron-magnus armor.
Intigrated transformation in the classics range is disappointing, but tolorable (barely).
Contained robot is fine in non-G1 magni (animated, aligned).
But Masterpiece dropped the ball as far as I'm concerned, and went for the laziest, lowest hanging fruit. IfI were to spend $200 or so on UM, I want *him.*

What MP Magnus is is a toy of the cartoon version, red bumper Sparkplug & Spike and all. I don't think we ever get to see the white robot in the cartoon?
Indeed the entire MP line is cartoon orientated: Wheeljack gets one cannon, Sideswipe's robot shape which I know you dislike, Spike & Sparkplug wear construction helmets, the exo suit with BB, Dr Arkeville, Red Alert's spark damage and all the other little extra add ons.
What you want is an updated super articulated high end toy version.

I wanted Magnus. But money was short at the time. And I really didn't like the red bumper. Here's hoping for a silver bumper on the Hasbro version WHEN it happens.

I really cant tell the difference between my Tiger Track and the KO. But people seem to believe the KOs might have been produced at the same time in the same factory possibly from reject parts or something, I don't know, either way they are effectively identical.

I was initially incredibly scathing of MP-10 - we'd already had MP-01, what was the damned point of another Optimus Prime Masterpiece? Do some different characters! And then I got it (of course I did) and held it in my hands and immediately changed my mind. |
